WHO KNEW FATHER’S DAY CAME FROM A WOMAN?
Very interesting story of how Father’s Day came to be in the early 1900’s. The idea came from a woman whose mother died during childbirth. The father was a civil war veteran who was left to raise her and her five brothers alone. As a way to show appreciation, she wanted to celebrate her father on his birthday with everyone in the month of June.
Soon enough, the concept spread throughout the country; and thus, Father’s Day was born.
It is amazing how much the life, role and responsibilities of being a father has evolved. They have never been more involved in all aspects of their children’s lives until this generation. Men have taken the parenting role more seriously, and have stepped up to the plate!
Whether you are a single, married, divorced, widowed man, this post goes out to all the Dad’s out there. Kudos to you because this is your day!
